Job role: Health & Safety Officer - Dublin Our client a leading main contractor who within Ireland and the UK is recruiting for a H&S officer to based full time on their site in Dublin. This company is looking for a H&S professional with main contractor experience to take on this exciting new role this site is a large-scale commercial job. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to take their place within an ever-growing company and implement a top-down approach to ensure that they operate in as safe an environment as possible. As a H&S officer for this company you will be reporting directly to the H&S manager and managing the safety for sub contactors, civil and ground works, tower crane operations mobile lifting operations while also dealing with general site H&S. Day-to-day responsibilities: Manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; Keep a focus on health and safety within the business. Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry. Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees. Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements. Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers Conducting regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation. Ensure safe working procedures are implemented. Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that they do not happen again. Skills and qualifications: 4-5+ years in similar role Previous main contractor experience IT Skills Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.
