Abbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae and follow-on formulae under the brand names "Similac" and "Gain". The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk, combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals.
Purpose of the Job:
- Maintain and support plant automation systems.
- Validate new equipment as per Q.A. procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement on production lines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Consult SOPs for job tasks and ensure adherence.
- Plan and schedule work according to plant demand and manpower.
- Ensure all employees and contractors are familiar with Safety Rules and regulations.
- Reduce product cost by improving efficiencies.
- Manage plant automation systems to ensure compliance with CFR 21/11 and other policies.
- Maintain and manage Plant Batching System, manufacturing communication network and Predictive Control System.
- Coordinate CAPA investigations impacting Engineering.
- Manage maintenance of Medium Voltage Equipment.
- Manage Manufacturing UPS Systems.
- Measure and analyze trends in OSI PI, Scada.
Education & Competencies:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent discipline with 5 years relevant experience in Automation engineering is required. Experience working with Siemens PLCs is essential, and experience with Ignition (SCADA) is an advantage.
