Job role: Junior Health & Safety advisor - Galway We are advertising a job role of health and safety advisor for our client who leading the way in the construction industry. The company who made a turnover of over €400 million is seeking a H&S professional in Galway. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in an ever-growing organisation. This organisation is looking for a junior safety advisor who will help keep the health and safety of their site up to standards. You will be working with staff, management and sub-contractors while reporting directly to the H&S manager on the job Day-to-day responsibilities: Manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; Keep a focus on health and safety within the business Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Skills and qualifications: Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred) 1+ years in similar role Previous construction experience IT Skills This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
