Junior or Graduate Site Engineer required for a civils contractor in Cork City.

A Junior or Graduate Site Engineer is needed to join a well-known civils contractor in Cork City. The contractor has multiple projects kicking off in the Cork area, offering a great opportunity for a young engineer to gain experience in the civils sector.

The Junior or Graduate Site Engineer will be responsible for setting out the site and dimensional controls in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and site surveys. They will also review construction outputs and plan the most efficient sequence of operations, with an emphasis on control of the works, quality, and technical advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set out works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and site surveys.
  • Resolve technical issues with employer's representatives, suppliers, subcontractors, and statutory authorities.
  • Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders define the specified requirements.
  • Input into Inspection and Test Plans and ensure supply chain provides test data to back up contract technical requirements.
  • Set up drawing registers and ensure subcontractors use the latest version of contract record drawings and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Engineering-related qualification.
  • Articulate and numerate, capable of delivering reports verbally and written in an objective and persuasive manner.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resilience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, acting in an independent and professional manner.
