Our client's luxurious property in Co Mayo is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sommelier to join their esteemed food and beverage team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring sommelier who is looking to develop their career in a high-end setting while learning from industry professionals. You will assist in providing exceptional wine service to guests, supporting the overall wine program, and enhancing the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the selection, recommendation, and serving of wines to guests.
2. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the wine list and pair wines with various dishes on the menu.
3. Support the Senior Sommelier in managing the wine cellar and inventory.
4. Provide education and training to the food and beverage team on wines and proper service techniques.
5. Uphold the highest standards of guest service, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
6. Stay informed on current wine trends and continuously develop your knowledge.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in a similar role or strong interest in wine and hospitality.
2. A genuine passion for wine and the ability to engage with guests about wine pairings.
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
4. Willingness to learn and develop your skills in a luxury environment.
5. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
6. WSET certification or similar wine training is a plus but not required.
