We offer that Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a Junior Systems Administrator. emagine is a high-end professional services consultancy and solutions firm specialising in providing business and technology services to clients in all sectors. Are you intrigued? Do you want to learn more? The Systems Administrator will support day-to-day operations with the IT Operations team. This includes servers, storage area networks, tape backup facilities, wide area, local area and Wi-Fi networks, firewalls, desktop and laptop computers, associated operating systems; fixed and mobile voice services and automated distribution of system software and critical security patches. A snapshot of your key responsibilities: Operations & Support: Perform routine system checks to verify all IT and telephony services are available each day. Diagnose and resolve service problems efficiently and effectively in response to incidents reported to the IT Service Desk. Perform regular security monitoring to prevent intrusion of malicious code. Perform daily and weekly backup operations to ensure all systems and user data are backed up. Carry out routine IT service provisioning by creating, changing and deleting user accounts as required. Adhere to the Service Level Agreement including KPIs on IT service quality and delivery. Maintenance: Apply critical service patches (e.g. security) promptly and upgrade administrative tools as necessary. Ensure all key elements of IT infrastructure are covered by vendor support and maintenance contracts. Conduct performance tests and add capacity to the IT infrastructure as needed (e.g. virtual and physical servers, SAN, network switches, etc.). Keep server room and regional office communication cabinets, cabling and equipment in good condition. Ensure operational procedures and information required to deliver IT services are documented. Support disaster recovery, business continuity and intrusion detection testing and remediate issues where necessary. Work with the IT Operations Manager to ensure IT policies, standards and procedures are updated regularly. Keep accurate records, with details of maintenance applied to the IT infrastructure. Service Provisioning: Provision IT services for new staff, and other moves, adds and changes. Participate in projects and advise on technical feasibility and security of solutions (including local, hybrid and cloud solutions). Configure system software in support of new services and projects. Engage with service providers to install and configure new IT infrastructure in response to increased capacity requirements and/or the provision of new services. Extend the Wide Area Network as required. Requirements: 1-3 years System Administration experience NFQ level 6 or higher in computer science or related Experience administrating Microsoft environments, including Windows Operating Systems, Entra ID, Microsoft Hyper-V, and ideally System Centre Configuration Manager, Operations Manager & Virtual Machine Manager, Azure and M365 System administration experience, including LAN/WAN wired & wireless administration (Juniper), SAN management and administration (Dell Unity), Firewall Administration experience (Juniper), SFTP, Video Conference Platforms (Poly) and a working knowledge of Unix/Linux Experience administering an effective backup and recovery, and disaster recovery policy supporting Business SLAs (working knowledge of CommVault Backup & Recovery products) Experience of current IT technologies and standards such as Azure cloud platform, Cyber Security Standards & controls, and structured IT service delivery practice (ITIL) Experience communicating with IT end-users and managers, providing status updates on issues and projects, presenting work to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and drafting technical documentation So, are you ready to join our team? emagine is an equal opportunity employer, and employment practices are based strictly on merit.
