WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Vintage Inn is looking for a Commis Chef who has a passion for creating exciting food. We are seeking a full-time assistant to join our small but expanding team, someone who is willing to work hospitality hours in a fast-paced environment. Someone willing to go the extra mile for our customers, with a welcoming attitude and a desire to deliver excellent food.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen area clean and organized. Ensure all food items are properly stored and labelled. Assist in maintaining stock levels and informing the chef of any shortages.
  2. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Ensure all surfaces, including workstations and storage areas, are sanitized and meet health and safety standards.
  3. Food Preparation: Assist the chef with ingredient preparations, peeling, chopping, and adhering to set recipes.
  4. Stock Control: Assist in tracking stock and restocking as needed. Help receive and check deliveries of food and supplies.
  5. Adhering to HACCP: Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure the safety of food being prepared.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with the chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Support the chef with menu planning and development by providing input when necessary.
  7. Customer Service: Occasionally interact with customers to take feedback or assist with special requests.

EXPERIENCE

  1. A minimum of one-year prior kitchen experience.
  2. HACCP certification for one year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations with minimum HACCP Level 2.
  2. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, good spoken and written English.
  3. Must be willing to work weekends, afternoons, and evenings to meet the needs of the business.
  4. Must have verifiable up-to-date references.
  5. Excellent organisational and communication skills with enthusiasm & passion for delivering consistent and tasty food.
  6. Self-motivated, able to perform well and remain professional whilst under pressure and understands targets and deadlines.
  7. Must be enthusiastic, eager to learn new skills, and committed to personal continuous professional development.

In business for over fifty years in Irishtown, we have become known as the best little secret pub in Dublin 4 with a reputation for quality music, food, and beer. We operate Wednesday - Sunday. We are a small and dynamic team, who like to work hard but have fun while we do so; customer service is at the core of what we do.
