Job Description

Seeking a Kubernetes generalist to assist with the construction, deployment, and troubleshooting of bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters, performing capacity planning activities, and implementing self-healing system automation.

Requirements include 4+ years administering Linux systems, 2+ years Kubernetes administration experience, advanced proficiency in Kustomize or Helm, and intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes networking internals.

Preferred qualifications include recent CKAD and CKA certifications, bare-metal Kubernetes management with Rancher and RKE, and cloud Kubernetes management (GKE, EKS, and AKS).

Minimum qualifications include 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree.

  • Comfortable using and developing on Linux as a primary OS, especially Ubuntu.
  • Advanced proficiency in Kustomize or Helm (preferably both).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes networking internals (notably Flannel+Calico).
  • Direct experience deploying and maintaining enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
  • Advanced proficiency with Docker and Linux container internals.
  • Advanced proficiency with git and Github.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Python.
  • Intermediate proficiency with bash scripting.
  • Comfortable with Agile project management in JIRA.
