Job Summary:
Kubernetes Generalist for On-Prem and Cloud-Based Multi-Tenant Clusters
We are seeking a skilled Kubernetes generalist to assist with the construction, deployment, and troubleshooting of bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the construction, deployment, and troubleshooting of bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher
* Monitor performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters
* Perform capacity planning activities
* Collaborate with a mature and experienced team of Kubernetes platform administrators
* Participate in project work and coaching from mentors
* Implement self-healing system automation
* Test, validate, and deploy new Kubernetes versions
* Transform existing platform automation to make use of new Kubernetes functionality
* Test and integrate new bare-metal compute platforms
* Implement and troubleshoot novel Kubernetes multi-tenancy patterns
Requirements:
* 4+ years of experience administering Linux systems
* 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes administration
* Advanced proficiency in Kustomize or Helm (preferably both)
* Intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes networking internals (notably Flannel+Calico)
* Direct experience deploying and maintaining enterprise Kubernetes clusters
* Advanced proficiency with Docker and Linux container internals
* Advanced proficiency with git and Github
* Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture and troubleshooting
* Intermediate proficiency with Python
* Intermediate proficiency with bash scripting
* Comfortable with Agile project management in JIRA
* Recent CKAD and CKA certifications (beneficial)
* Bare-metal Kubernetes management with Rancher and RKE (beneficial)
* Cloud Kubernetes management (GKE, EKS, and AKS) (beneficial)

Minimum Qualifications:
* 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree
* OR 7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree
