About the role

We are recruiting for a LCA Specialist to join the team in Naas, Ireland. This is a new opportunity due to a growing and emerging pillar of the business.

You will be working within different portfolio products to understand where there are areas of opportunity to create value with our customers.

What will I be doing?

  • Enhancement of digital tools for functions (RDA, Commercial, GIO) to use in their day-to-day work to rapidly assess the impact of product choices and to inform decision-making.
  • Conducting quantitative analyses and modelling of the life cycle assessment (LCA) of Kerry (and customer) products through the product development process, assessing different technologies and providing direction on material choice and design for impact reduction.
  • Roll out of SKU level carbon scores, ensuring accuracy of carbon scores, working with innovation, D&A and portfolio management teams to utilise LCA data to drive value at customers.
  • Ensuring that Kerry's carbon scoring methodology is up to date versus industry standards and aligned with all known future directions in this area.
  • Create models for other sustainability linked measures (eg water usage, land usage, animal welfare, labour etc) aligned with Kerry's reporting and strategic intent in these areas.
  • Work with portfolio owners to utilise data to highlight products which score positively & create value propositions from same, you will also utilise data to highlight products which score negatively and drive actions to improve these scores.
  • Work with innovation and D&A teams to ensure development recipes score as positively as possible (while considering all other commercial, customer & technical requirements).
  • Work with integrated operations to monitor and improve emissions scores from Kerry's processes.
  • Work with procurement to ensure we maximise the purchase of positively scoring materials (while considering all other commercial & technical requirements).
  • Support commercial teams interpreting results and on their communication to customers.

What do I need to be successful?

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in a similar role and environment.

These include:

  • Master's degree in environmental science or similar discipline
  • Industry experience using LCA
  • Influential and evident sustainability experience
