Summary / Role PurposeJoin the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys' business. As a subject matter, industry and Ansys solutions expert, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help guide Ansys product roadmap based on customer requirements. You will consult with customers on simulation-based solutions in support of their key business initiatives, lead project teams to create pervasive simulation solutions and mentor junior engineers. Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teamsHelp guide complex sales engagements to successful outcomes using subject matter expertise and industry knowledgeInteract with customers to understand their key business initiatives, product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers' requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys' value proposition to Executive level audiencesLead project teams to create differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and products; deploy the solutions within customers' design workflowsMentor junior engineersCollaborate with the Ansys product development teams to guide Ansys product roadmap; lead project teams testing new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems, develop application best practicesParticipate in corporate initiatives to further enhance Ansys technology, processes and people skillsSupport Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentationsContribute to consulting services, conduct intermediate and/or advanced training classes Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and ExperienceRequired education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fieldRequired minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3Demonstrated use of Ansys Motor-CAD and/or Ansys Maxwell or knowledge of other relevant commercial software packages for analysis of electrical machines and/or electric powertrain systems.Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development experience on electrical machines and/or electric powertrain systems, preferably within an OEM or TIER1 environment.Subject Matter Expert in electrical machines and/or electric powertrain systems, is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers.Experience with building solutions using simulation technology and deploying those solutions within customers' engineering workflows.Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impactStrong leadership and mentoring skillsLogical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking EnglishAbility to organize and manage multiple projects which are complex in nature, possesses a sense of urgencyProjects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeedAbility to travel up to 25% of time Preferred Qualifications and SkillsPreferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS, MS, or PhD+74 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering softwareAbility to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executivesDemonstrated experience working in a wider engineering team developing electric powertrains, understanding challenges in requirements and product development/design processes.Fluent in GermanFamiliarity with version control systems and the software development processKnowledge of Python, Linux operating system, High performance computing.
