Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer - 100 MW Gas-Fired Power Plant (Athlone) Location: Athlone, Ireland Contract: 12 Months Green Transition Partners (GTP) is partnering with a leading international EPC contractor to recruit a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead the electrical engineering scope for the construction of a 100 MW Gas-Fired Power Plant in Athlone. About the Role: As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful design, implementation, and commissioning of the electrical systems for this critical infrastructure project. Your technical expertise and leadership will drive the project's electrical engineering aspects from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities: Lead the electrical engineering team in all phases of the project. Develop and review electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems. Oversee procurement and installation of electrical equipment and materials. Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems and components. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction and commissioning. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power generation or heavy industrial projects. Proven track record in leading electrical engineering teams. Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution. Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable: Experience in gas-fired power plant construction or similar projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent. Familiarity with Irish electrical regulations and standards.
