Lead Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a collaborative team of engineers in Galway. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will lead all aspects of machine design from initial concept to final release, focusing on the design of innovative solutions for a multinational client base.REQUIREMENTS:Primary Degree BSc / BEng6+ years in a machine design roleProficient in designing mechanical systems and components using CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorksAbility to think innovatively and creatively when addressing design challengesSolid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and conceptsAdvanced knowledge of equipment design and adherence to safety standardsEffective time management skills for meeting project deadlines and prioritizing tasksEnjoys working in a dynamic, results-driven team environmentStrong interpersonal skills, able to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teamsRESPONSIBILITIES:Lead all aspects of machine design from initial concept to final releaseDeliver robust designs through anticipating and preventing build, debug, performance and reliability issues.Ensure design is compliant to all regulatory, safety and CE requirementsUse 3D & 2D CAD software to produce solid models, detail drawings and BOM of equipment in line with client specificationsSpecify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specificationsProduce related documentation (technical data sheets, detailed drawings, operating manuals, test procedures etc).Prepare detailed tooling drawings and pneumatic schematicsResponsibility for quality, commissioning and safety of designs completedProactively seeks more efficient/lower cost methods of meeting quality and schedule requirementsLiaise with customers for requirement specifications and project deliverablesManage communications with various internal and external stakeholders for project delivery and status reportingMonitor project risks and implement appropriate preventative actionsProvide mentoring and technical direction to less experienced members of the engineering teamSupport technical sales with machine concept generation and costingLead continuous improvement activities within the engineering group #J-18808-Ljbffr
