Serves as a resource person for team members. Primary duties include ensuring compliance with policies/procedures and regulatory requirements, problem solving, teaching/training, and communication. Work together with laboratory management and the department-specific technical leads so that the satellite laboratory uses the same standards/procedures as the main campus laboratory. Responsibilities Responsible for a satellite laboratory operation, supply ordering, and assists with scheduling as a working lead. Perform all routine and complex analysis in assigned areas, applying knowledge of techniques, principles, quality control, theory, and instrumentation. Apply knowledge of test interdependency and physiological conditions affecting test results, critical result limits, normal ranges, and/or toxic or therapeutic ranges, to ensure accuracy. Recognize, troubleshoot, and initiate corrective action for problems in a timely manner. Act in the best interest of patient care. Cross-trained in hematology, coagulation, chemistry, blood bank, urines, and stat microbiology/serology. Other duties as assigned by the director. Qualifications Minimum two years in a related field. Able to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discretely with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public. Able to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience. Demonstration of creativity, initiative, and problem-solving. ASCP-MT or MLT or equivalent preferred.
