Job Description

Lead Shift Utilities Technician Location: Co Meath Duration: Permanent Overview of the Role: The utilities shift lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the utility plant under their control for the duration of the shift. Outside of normal hours, and in the absence of Utilities Lead/ Site manager, the Shift lead assumes the role of contract lead. He/she will ensure the uptime of all plant and that all issues are communicated and escalated where appropriate, He/She is also responsible for the delivery of all agreed services as per the shift expectation document Day to Day of the Role: Responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of a multi skilled team of technicians (Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical and Electrical) Ensure that all relevant maintenance activities are carried out as per site policies, schedules and procedures. Ensure complete execution on time of the Preventive Maintenance on Specific Utilities Equipment, where appropriate Ensures that all utilities equipment in charge for the duration of shift is available at all times. Any equipment deviations are reported in the first instance as per the site escalation process. Shift Lead as starting point for internal and client escalation processes. Ensures all issues over the shift are communicated to the next shift on shift change-over in a smooth and efficient manner Co-ordinate and work with a Calibration System Update Utilities Standard Operating Procedures and ensure Training is carried out with Operations Teams. To Liase and Work with the Commissioning team on all Utilities Equipment Compile all preliminary incident investigations, including Trackwise and Health and Safety Incident Reports Act as Mentor to shift technicians (carryout Training as Per Specific SOP) Sign all work permits as area owner Carry out Weekly and Monthly Reports Carryout Investigations on Utilities Equipment. Carryout Performance reviews with Team Members Responsible for overseeing the quality of Engineering works carried out on Utilities systems To Assist Maintenance Departments with Planned and unplanned Shutdowns. All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) guidelines. Required Skills for the Role: 5+ years experience. Worked in a Shift Team or as part of a Maintenance Team Knowledge of Utilities Systems as per the below. Worked in a Pharmaceutical, Brewery, Dairy and Food Industry. Worked in a regulated Industry (FDA, IMB, NSAI) Good working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of plant equipment: Proven capability of working with Pumps, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, Steam Boilers and Steam Systems ancillary services, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, Cooling towers, Clean Steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, Sterilization Systems, Low Voltage electrical systems, PLC's, Building Management Systems (Honey well, Emerson Delta V), Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.
