Arcadia's Dublin Centre is located in the Temple Bar area where classes, academic programs, student life services and other forms of comprehensive support are offered to participating students. Job Title: Lecturer in the DUBI BUEP 389S Entrepreneurship in Ireland: Innovate, Inspire, Impactmodule and DUBI INPR 210S Internship Seminar Location: In person at Arcadia University, 1-4 The Courtyard, 20 Fishamble Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 8 Reports to: Director of Irish Programmes and Enterprise at Arcadia in Dublin Position Type: Summer post (end of May 2025- end of July 2025) Job Purpose: This fixed period full-time position involves working closely with American Undergraduate students in delivering two modules Entrepreneurship in Ireland: Innovate, Inspire, Impact and the coreDUBI INPR 210S Internship Seminar in Summer 2025. The students to whom this course is being delivered will be partaking in an 8 week internship programme in Dublin. Students typically have 2-3 weeks of classes where they choose their elective (one being Entrepreneurship in Ireland) before beginning a 6 week internship experience. During the internship experience students are expected to participate in their core module INPR, the Internship Seminar. The successful candidate will work closely with students in their elective Entrepreneurship module, helping them develop their own business ideas, gain real-world business experience, and foster entrepreneurial thinking. As part of their core Internship seminar, students undergo a comprehensive journey of professional development through a blend of on-site explorations, active class engagement, expert insights from guest speakers and personal reflection through journaling, and concluding presentations. Key Responsibilities: Module Delivery: Deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops for the Entrepreneurship in Ireland: Innovate, Inspire, Impact andDUBI INPR 210S Internship Seminarmodules, ensuring that students gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience as well as expanding their understanding of Irish workplace culture Curriculum Development: Create and update course content, reflecting current trends in Irish entrepreneurship, business start-ups, and innovation. Student Support: Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to students, assisting them in developing their entrepreneurial ideas and guiding them through the start-up process. Practical Application: Develop case studies, simulations, and real-world projects that allow students to apply entrepreneurial theories and practices. Help students to articulate their workplace experiences through assignments and presentations. Assessment & Feedback: Design assessments that measure students entrepreneurial skills. Offer timely, constructive feedback to help students grow their business understanding along with their understanding of the Irish workplace Guest Lecturers & Industry Links: Establish relationships with Irish entrepreneurs and business professionals to invite guest lecturers or a field trip which will offer networking opportunities for students. Professional Development: Stay updated on new business models, emerging markets, and entrepreneurship education trends. Person Specification: Education: A minimum of a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business, or a related field. A post-doc or a business leader with substantial entrepreneurial experience in Ireland would be advantageous. Experience: Experience teaching entrepreneurship or business-related subjects in higher education. Direct experience with business and entrepreneurial networks is an advantage. Skills and Attributes: Understanding the unique and ever changing needs and trends among international college students Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students. Ability to provide constructive feedback to students throughout the course and be the key point of contact for grade queries during and following the course Strong understanding of Irelands entrepreneurial ecosystem, government incentives, and key industries. Ability to mentor students in real-world entrepreneurship, providing insights into Irish start-up challenges and opportunities. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Ability to utilize academic learning systems for the dissemination of academic material and discussions (e.g. Canvas or blackboard) Desirable Experience: Experience in working with US college students. Experience working with Irish start-ups, incubators, or accelerators. Familiarity with government support for entrepreneurship in Ireland (e.g., Enterprise Ireland). Active engagement in Irelands entrepreneurial networks. Key Dimensions: Work Environment: This role involves a balance of academic responsibilities and student mentorship. The lecturer is expected to work closely with students, fostering an environment of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. Working Terms and Conditions: This is for a fixed period of time between the end of May 2025 to the end of July 2025 The standard work schedule for this module is Monday to Thursday, with sessions from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Course will be revised and approved by April 15. Flexibility required for occasional evening or weekend events related to student projects, presentations, and guest speakers or site visits. Attendance of at least two preparation meetings (one in person and one zoom meeting) before the programme begins. Be a point of contact for grade queries following the programme end date. Salary: Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience. Salary will include a course development stipend in addition to remuneration for the delivery of the course.
