The School of Irish, Celtic Studies and Folklore is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Assistant Professor to a permanent post in Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
Candidates should have completed a Ph D in the general subject of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) such as Folklore, Ethnology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Oral History, or related discipline.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing these teaching initiatives and providing leadership in Teaching & Learning, alongside pursuing their research projects.
The School particularly welcomes applications from those with a particular expertise in the implementation of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and in addition the 2005 Convention on Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
Expert knowledge and active engagement with the challenges of conserving and promoting living heritage and of the role of ICH in society are also required.
The appointee will participate effectively in the School's postgraduate and undergraduate programmes and contribute significantly to the quality expansion of research in the relevant area.
The appointee will undertake administrative tasks as designated by the Head of School and play an active part in the life of the School.
