Job Description

An expanding renewable energy company is now looking to hire its first legal counsel to assist its executive team. The job is based in Tipperary and would require 3 days a week in the office. Excellent remuneration and benefits package available for the successful candidate.Role ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage legal and governance work-streams for the Renewable Energy portfolio.Support business unit objectives by providing necessary legal advice.Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of legal advice and projects.Monitor compliance with corporate governance requirements and liaise with Directors on shareholder compliance matters.Utilize experience in the agri-business landscape to manage various contracts (HoTs, Lease agreements, feedstock agreements, construction contracts, process contracts, O&M contracts, management service agreements, multidisciplinary contracts).Collaborate with operations, commercial, development, and technical teams to prepare projects for financing.Coordinate with Operations, Development, Commercial, and Finance functions to identify and analyze commercial and legal requirements.Negotiate key commercial contracts and transactions to align with the Renewable Energy strategy.Lead in managing and mitigating risks and finding solutions to overcome obstacles.Manage legal support services to ensure all functions receive necessary support.Oversee procurement processes from a legal perspective, ensuring value and compliance.Foster a high-performance culture within the team, focusing on operational excellence and continuous improvement.Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, and Welfare provisions for employees and the public.As part of the Senior Management team, utilize the Performance Management process for effective resource planning.Qualifications And ExperienceIdeal Candidate Requirements:Solicitor or Barrister with in-house experienceBusiness Management experience.Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.Experience in managing large departments or governance aspects of large projects/transactions.Proficient in MS Office suite.Previous experience in the energy sector with comprehensive knowledge of energy markets and key principles of project development and operations would be desirable.Strong negotiating and influencing skills to support project teams in achieving strategic objectives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
