Probate Legal Executive – Limerick

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Probate Legal Executive to join the team in our Limerick Office.

About us Multi-award-winning firm HOMS Assist is presently seeking to appoint an experienced probate legal executive to join our growing team.

HOMS Assist is a dedicated arm of Holmes O'Malley Sexton LLP specialising in catering for the legal requirements of individuals.

Principal / Regular Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with taking instructions from clients
Preparation of Wills
Preparation of Statement of Affairs (Form SA2) and IT38
Preparation of Estate Accounts
Preparation of Oaths, Bonds and ancillary probate documents
Liaising with financial institutions, probate office and other third parties
Drafting of Deeds of Assent and Deeds of Transfer
Registration of documents in the PRA
Preparation of Estate Accounts
Drafting and registering EPAs and Wardship applications
Preparing files for court – Briefs/Witnesses etc.
Conduct Archiving
Manage Accounts Ledger
Act as main contact person on behalf of the relevant fee earner in that section
Support the solicitor(s) in various areas under his/her remit
Work to continuous deadlines and perform duties in a highly confidential environment
Work efficiently using own initiative
Undertake other appropriate duties assigned by the relevant solicitor or his/her nominee
Conduct own typing, scanning, filing and telephone contact work
Open new files
Create and edit legal documents and templates
Respond on own initiative to general queries and requests for information/assistance

Requirements
Experience of drafting wills, probate papers and assisting with the running of will and probate files.
Qualifications/Experience and Skills

Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised, in a busy environment
Proven organisational and administrative ability as well as excellent communication skills
A positive attitude, a proactive approach to work and a willingness to learn
A high degree of attention to detail
Proficient in I.
T skills
Advising and dealing with new clients and referrals
Drafting wills, advising on wealth management and administration of estate in all forms
Experience of Probate Litigation, licensing and conveyancing would be an advantage
Diploma in Legal Studies an advantage
Membership of IILEX an advantage
