Job Title: Line Operative - Skilled
Reports to: Head of Production
The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently delivering high-quality meat products, performing all stages of primary conversion, breaking carcasses into quarters, and deboning into primals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all stages of primary conversion of cattle, sheep, and pigs
- Break carcasses into quarters for further processing
- Debone into primals for wholesale and retail processing
Requirements:
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and meat cuts
- Ability to use knives, saws, and other tools safely and efficiently
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy carcasses and work in cold and wet conditions
- Compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Respect for animal welfare
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to learn, manage, and safely operate machinery
- Highly organized and driven, an effective time manager
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Thinking and reasoning skills
- Good level of English language
Working Conditions:
- 39 hours per week with some flexibility required
