Cloud Solutions Engineer

Ekco is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Linux-based services, providing technical and procedural guidance, and monitoring the health of Linux/Unix servers through automated processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement solutions architected by the Ekco Platform team
  • Design, build, and maintain Linux-based services
  • Provide technical and procedural guidance
  • Monitor the health of Linux/Unix servers through automated processes
  • Maintain and upgrade these systems via change control and BAU processes
  • Work to automate any manual processes
  • Diagnose complex technical issues and involve appropriate resources to speed up problem resolution
  • Provide follow-up status internally in accordance with specific OLA's
  • Service SOPs to review and deploy into production new platform upgrade/patch releases
  • Ensure consistent and predictable application deployment through standardised environments and tools
  • Capacity and resource monitoring and planning

Key Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency in Systems Administration in Linux/Unix (Ubuntu, Cent OS, Red Hat, ZFS, Open BSD, My SQL, and Maria DB etc)
  • Ability to implement infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools through scripts such as BASH
  • Experience developing tools to help increase functionality and efficiency of available infrastructure
  • Experience maintaining software repositories and applying software updates
  • Maintaining and creating documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs
  • Evaluating compatibility of programs with existing communications hardware and software features
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to focus on a prioritized task list spread over multiple projects (time management)
  • Able to follow and produce documented step-by-step procedures for associated technologies
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including awareness of when to ask for assistance and guidance

Bonus Points:

  • Experience configuring and maintaining ZFS
  • Knowledge deploying and maintaining Open BSD
  • Professional certifications in Linux are desirable
