Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical organization in Carlow. The ideal candidate will have a background in maintenance engineering and experience in sterile filling processes. They will be responsible for ensuring all planned maintenance and calibration are complete, collaborating with equipment owners and other departments, and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related science or engineering discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance engineering role. They will also have knowledge of regulatory requirements and sterile filling processes. Additional experience with autoclaves, washers, and SKIDS is an advantage. The Maintenance Engineer will work under the guidance of coaches and maintenance sustaining engineers to apply lean tools to process data and complete improvements. They will be responsible for managing process/equipment improvements, delivering training, and maximizing equipment uptime. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment problems, identifying needs for new equipment or modifications, and driving change through the change control system. They will also provide support with audit/inspection requirements and participate in internal and external audits and inspections. The Maintenance Engineer will drive continuous improvement, perform root cause analysis, and provide input, review, and approval for atypical investigations. They will oversee coordination of resources to implement suggestions/ideas of merit and recognize and investigate opportunities for financial savings. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of cGMP and GDP and be able to work in aseptic/clean room conditions. They will be responsible for reducing maintenance costs and improving overall equipment effectiveness. The Maintenance Engineer will work closely with the maintenance team, quality, EHS, and technical operations to ensure best practice outputs.
