Job Description

Aughinish Alumina Ltd, situated in Askeaton on a 1,300-acre site on the Shannon Estuary, is one of the leading industrial plants in Ireland. It is the largest Alumina Refinery in Europe, producing 1.99 million tonnes per annum of product that is the primary raw material for the production of aluminium. The Job: As a maintenance planner at Aughinish you are a vital part of the staff team supporting front-line operations. Your responsibility is to ensure that preventative maintenance is planned, scheduled and resourced by driving a six-week plan of work using our Maintenance Management System. Key Responsibilities: Take a long-term view on driving the Planning Process. Ensure that all maintenance tasks identified on care-plans for area equipment are set up on the appropriate systems so that they will be scheduled when due. Maintain a list of work for the assigned areas incorporating care-plan work as well as one-off jobs. Producing daily and weekly work schedules, including planning resources, and having the correct materials / parts available for the task. Ensure that adequate scopes are obtained for planned maintenance work. Ensure services such as scaffolding and craneage is organised for planned maintenance work and stood down in a timely manner after use. Liaise and interact with section leads to ensure work is prioritised correctly and equipment is released in a timely manner. Facilitate the running of the morning maintenance planning meetings to ensure resources, work orders, plant availability and parts are assigned accordingly. Drive the correct recording of section maintenance data in the Maintenance Management System. Coordinate with other planners across the site on the upkeep and ongoing improvement of the computerised maintenance system. Assist the engineer in the preparation of the annual budget. Work with engineers to plan, implement and update standards in maintenance work practices. Carry out planned inspections as required. Essential Skills and Attributes: At least 3 years experience in a related field is desirable. Trade or technical degree qualified. Previous experience in a planning role would be an advantage. A proven interest and ability in the area of planning and scheduling. Self-motivated person with the ability to function within a team and alone equally well. Effective communication skills.
