Job Description

**Job Summary** Maintenance Safety Lead responsible for ensuring highest levels of Safety compliance in a busy, safety-focused environment, providing in-field support and mentoring on safe systems of work. This role will be heavily operationally focused, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the highest levels of Safety compliance are applied in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for: * Ensuring the highest level of compliance to all regulatory Safety requirements within the team * Coordinating Safety-related activities in the operating unit and driving sustained and continuous improvement in EHSS compliance * Facilitating local compliance with the Incident/Accident management system * Supporting and executing Safety investigations, providing SME input and support/execute subsequent CAPA completion * Evaluating and promoting a Safety Culture, embedding an intrinsically psychologically safe working environment * Attending weekly SAT (Safety Action Teams) forum to provide support and focus on necessary safety-related themes/topics for discussion with Technicians and Engineers * Having complete oversight of area risk assessment program, ensuring non-routine tasks are identified and risk assessments are completed in a consistent and comprehensive way * Facilitating all RAMS reviews and approval with EHSS * Being the liaison in the operating unit with EHSS team for external audits * Networking on EHSS issues within the business and across operating sites * Ensuring any incident learnings are communicated across the business and the wider site network * Ensuring safe working practices are written/documented and followed through * Ensuring training and re-training of staff by facilitating required facilitator-led training courses * Maintaining a training matrix, recording all relevant EHSS training * Delivering ongoing continuous improvement to plant and processes when it comes to safe ways of working for a high-performing team * Developing Safety compliance-related metrics/KPIs/KBIs using appropriate data visualization * Providing guidance, support, and coaching to Reliability/Maintenance Technicians regarding safe ways of working in the field * Performing Safety-focused field-based GEMBAs at assigned intervals * Supporting development of Energy Control Plans, working alongside field Technicians * Being the Department LOTO (Lockout Tagout) champion and supporting rollout, training, and sustained compliance of refreshed COHE site standard * Supporting Maintenance Engineering teams with WO management **Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required** * Hold a relevant Engineering-related qualification (Level 7/Level 8 BTech/BEng) * Have experience as an Engineering professional working with process equipment in a biologics, pharma, chemical, or food manufacturing facility * Previous hands-on/Technician experience, with exposure to LOTO practices desirable * Good working knowledge of the relevant Engineering/Safety legislation * Experience of risk assessment, auditing, and incident investigation processes * Prioritize safety, quality, and reliability in every task * Working knowledge of Maximo or equivalent CMMS system * High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities * Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team, in a cross-functional collaborative environment with all levels of the organization as required and with interdisciplinary departments * Flexible and amenable to change with the ability to work independently when required
