Job Description

Seeking a contract Maintenance Safety Lead to support the Engineering Operations & Maintenance team in ensuring highest levels of Safety compliance in a busy, safety-focused environment.

The role will involve in-field support, finding workable solutions, and mentoring/coaching on safe systems of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure highest level of compliance to all regulatory Safety requirements
  • Coordinate Safety related activities and ensure sustained and continuous improvement in EHSS compliance
  • Facilitate local compliance with Incident/Accident management system
  • Support/execute Safety investigations and CAPA completion
  • Evaluate and promote a Safety Culture
  • Attend weekly SAT forum to provide support and focus on necessary safety related themes/topics
  • Have complete oversight of area risk assessment program
  • Facilitate RAMS reviews and approval with EHSS
  • Be the liaison in the operating unit with EHSS team for external audits
  • Network on EHSS issues within the business and across operating sites
  • Ensure any incident learnings are communicated across the business and the wider site network
  • Support wellbeing of all staff on site
  • Ensure safe working practices are written/documented and followed through
  • Ensure training and re-training of staff
  • Maintain a training matrix, recording all relevant EHSS training
  • Deliver ongoing continuous improvement to plant and processes
  • Develop Safety compliance related metrics/KPIs/KBIs
  • Provide guidance, support and coaching to Reliability/Maintenance Technicians
  • Perform Safety focused field based GEMBAs
  • Support development of Energy Control Plans
  • Be the Department LOTO champion
  • Support Maintenance Engineering teams with WO management

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Engineering related qualification (Level 7/Level 8 BTech/BEng)
  • Have experience as an Engineering professional working with process equipment in a biologics, pharma, chemical or food manufacturing facility
  • Previous hands on/Technician experience, with exposure to LOTO practices
  • Have a good working knowledge of the relevant Engineering/Safety legislation
  • Have experience of risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation processes
  • It is essential that the candidate prioritises safety, quality and reliability in every task
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or equivalent CMMS system
  • High level of attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
