Job Description

Job Summary: Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems in a regulated Medical Device facility.

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve maximum availability and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance routines and record work orders in the plant's Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Continuously improve mechanical and electrical systems to achieve maximum availability and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out in compliance with relevant SOPs and GMP requirements.
  • Update and maintain maintenance records in an organised and efficient manner.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting on automated controls, electrical equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Work with the team to commission and validate new and existing equipment, including acceptance trials, setup, and debugging.
  • Participate in training and development, including cross-skilling and other job-related competencies.
  • Participate in Task-Based Risk Assessments on building maintenance tasks.
  • Work in compliance with the site's Safe Systems of Work, including permitting, LOTO, isolations, and safety documentation review.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, and other departments.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Mechanical/Electrical/Multiskilled Apprenticeship or NFQ Level 6 qualification.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, ideally within Medical Devices or a similar industry.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience working on and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment within a regulated industry.
  • Experience with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and electronic Maintenance Request Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational ability.
