Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at West Pharmaceutical Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of equipment in operation at our site, including moulding machines, automation/robots, water heaters, oil heaters, conveyors, and hot runner controllers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the maintenance and repair of equipment in operation at West
  • Liaise with external contractors for maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Use preventative maintenance system to pre-determined guidelines
  • Work with Production Group leaders to troubleshoot equipment/plant problems
  • Establish relationships with customers and suppliers for continuous improvement and business development
  • Attend and schedule internal meetings to establish priorities and assign tasks
  • Solve customer-related problems/issues with the Quality department
  • Research and implement new processes and systems for maintenance/manufacture of equipment under the direction of the Operations Manager
  • Instruct others regarding manufacturing-related skills or knowledge and assist in training employees on new processes or systems
  • Comply with site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, and regulations
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities
  • Able to comply with company safety and quality policies

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 6 engineering qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a maintenance-related role
  • Knowledge of PLC Programming and electrical work
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings
  • Experience supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Some understanding of the injection molding process

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Medium physical requirements, including working with tools and working at heights
  • Ability to lift up to 25kgs and climb up and down stairs or platform ladders up to 10 times per day
  • Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions
