Maintenance Technician
- Manage maintenance and repair of equipment in operation at West
- Liaise with external contractors for maintenance and repair
- Use preventative maintenance system to pre-determined guidelines
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintenance and breakdown repair of moulding equipment
- Work with Production Group leaders to troubleshoot equipment/plant problems
- Establish relationships with customers and suppliers for continuous improvement
- Attend and facilitate internal meetings to establish priorities and assign tasks
- Solve customer-related problems/issues with Quality department
- Research new processes and systems with approved vendors and implement as directed
- Instruct others on manufacturing-related skills and assist in employee training
- Comply with site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, and regulations
- Support Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of set targets
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 6 engineering qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in maintenance-related role
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Electrical/Mechanical/software qualification and time served in Plastic-processing environment
- Knowledge of PLC Programming and electrical work
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment
- Understanding of injection molding process
- Ability to interact with suppliers, customers, and external contractors
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Medium physical requirements, including working with tools and heights
- Lifting up to 25kgs and climbing stairs or platform ladders up to 10 times per day
- Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, and maintain focus
- Ability to communicate with visitors and express ideas in verbal and written form
Delegation of Duties:
- When absent, duties and responsibilities will be delegated to Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Lead Technician
