Our client, a specialist property and casualty reinsurerbased in Cavan, are seeking to recruit a Reporting Accountant to develop and assist the Financial Accountant with the finance and operations function. The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO in a hands-on and rewarding role. Key Responsibilities Assisting in preparation of the quarterly financial statements and management accounts. Maintaining the general ledger and managing cash and bank accounts. Assist the submission of annual and quarterly regulatory returns. Assist in preparation of ad hoc reporting requests from group internal functions. Assist the CFO on accounting related tasks. Preparation and filing of VAT returns and Corporation tax computation and returns. Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly board packs. Assisting the internal auditors and liaise with other corporate functions to ensure efficient processes are in place. Liaising with external auditors and assisting with year-end audit. Assisting the Company in complying with Solvency II requirements with a focus on Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 requirements. Adhoc responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA or equivalent). A working knowledge of both Irish GAAP and U.S. GAAP preferred. Experience in Solvency II reporting would be advantageous. Experience in insurance/reinsurance business would be advantageous. Personal Attributes Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Integrity and high ethical standards.
