Management Accountant - Part Time


Job Summary:


The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to support the decision-making process within the company.

This role requires an understanding of manufacturing processes and costs, as well as the ability to interpret financial data, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the company's growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to optimise performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, profitability reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyse cost structures, product margins, and overheads to provide actionable insights for improving profitability and efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against these benchmarks.
  • Identify and report on costsaving opportunities, process inefficiencies, and potential financial risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive financial performance and business growth.
  • Provide financial input for strategic decisions, including new product development, pricing strategies, and capital investments.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial information.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the company's financial controls and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Assist in the preparation for external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is required.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in a management accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Navision or similar is an advantage).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Proactive and resultsoriented with a keen eye for detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
