Manager, Employee Relations/People Partner

Our client, a leading organization in North Dublin, is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join their dynamic HR team. In this pivotal role, you'll drive the Employee Relations and People agenda, forming strong partnerships with the unions and stakeholder groups, employees and leaders at all levels to guide and implement effective employee relations and people strategies. This role reports in the Senior Employee Relations Manager and is a hybrid position where you can make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead, manage and coordinate all employee relations activities in collaboration with the HR Leadership team, identifying clear priorities.
  2. Play a lead role in developing and implementing a proactive employee relations programme in line with policy to include the handling of industrial relations issues.
  3. Proactively and positively manage the relationship with Trade Unions representing staff.
  4. Interpret and implement government directives, public sector service agreements and relevant legislation.
  5. Represent the company at relevant Industrial Relations fora including WRC hearings.
  6. Manage and attend both formal and informal employee relations processes.
  7. Undertake relevant industrial relations research with responsibility for the preparation of submissions for Industrial Relations fora including Conciliation, Adjudication and Labour Court hearings.
  8. Policy development and implementation in conjunction with management, staff and Trade Unions.
  9. Assist in supporting and developing the HR Operations team to deliver on the IR/ER agenda.
  10. Liaise with and develop good relations with other external bodies/agencies, in particular IBEC and other similar institutions.
  11. Produce reports, statistics and updates for the HR Director.
  12. Drive a case management approach to sick leave cases.
  13. Consistently monitor sick leave trends and proactively manage absenteeism levels.
  14. Provide direct HR support to a small number of units with the view of developing and maintaining operational intelligence to best serve the ER agenda.

Experience/Requirements

Essential

  1. A primary degree, preferably in Human Resources and/or Industrial Relations.
  2. Minimum of five years' experience and a record of success of working in an Employee Relations and/or HR Operational role which encompassed employee relations delivery in HR.
  3. A strong knowledge of Irish Industrial Relations systems together with experience of implementing and managing proactive employee relations programmes, including dealing with third parties would be preferable.
  4. Strong writing skills with a demonstrable record of policy and documentation development.

Preferred

  1. A good understanding of semi-private / public sector employee relations.
  2. Ability to navigate both private and public sector requirements in tandem.
  3. A significant track record of success in providing comprehensive HR support to relevant business units within an organisation.
  4. Track record of policy and procedure development.
  5. Be curious and eager to learn and demonstrate ability to navigate ambiguous situations.

Remuneration Package

€70,000 - €90,000 plus benefits.
