RTÉ invites applications for the position of Manager of Design, leading an innovative, future-focused design team delivering exceptional graphic and production design solutions to a wide range of internal clients.
The Manager of Design will be a key enabler in realising the opportunities of an ever-evolving design environment, reporting to the Head of Design and Studio Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design team across graphic, production and real-time design and delivery
- Assess, prioritise and assign design projects to ensure creative and collaborative cohesion across all projects and design functions
- Translate emerging design trends and opportunities into actionable goals
- Work with finance and planning to establish annual budgets and ensure the department meets targets set
- Build and maintain exceptional external and internal relationships to understand and satisfy previously unmet, unexpressed, or unknown client needs
- Analyse, report and act on Design performance and industry trends to continuously improve on our operating model and champion innovation initiatives
- Identify and progress innovations and tools for non-designers to output exciting and exceptionally engaging graphics and brand-conscious content
- Translate emerging trends into development opportunities for the Design team through an annual learning and development plan
Experience and Skills Required:
- At least 4 years of experience leading a Design team and/or significant design projects within their area of expertise
- Detailed technical understanding of design workflows
- Clear vision of how evolving design trends will impact on viewers' expectations
- Finely developed aesthetic sense attuned to fashion in design trends
- Empathic and inclusive leadership skills
- Natural ability to communicate across a range of mediums
- Experience using Adobe design apps
- Exceptional organisational skills

The position will be offered on a permanent ongoing full-time employment basis at Manager Grade 2 level, with a salary band of €71,532 to €100,334 per annum, with pay increases subject to performance.
