**Job Description**
Meta is seeking a Manager, Production Engineering to support and lead engineers working on Meta's infrastructure at different layers of the stack.
**Responsibilities:**
- Support and lead engineers on challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance, efficiency, and security of systems.
- Understand and contribute to technical architectures, capacity plans, tooling needs, automation plans, and product launch plans.
- Drive technical architecture discussions and develop lasting partnerships with product management, program management, network engineering, software engineering, and other related groups.
- Empower engineers to develop their careers and build an inclusive work environment.
- Assess employee performance, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance.
- Work closely with recruiting staff to expand the team and balance the need to "keep things running" with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- 4+ years of direct management experience in a technology role.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience drafting and reviewing code.
- Experience building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance.
- Communication and cross-collaboration experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience utilizing defense in depth strategies to protect crucial system and network infrastructure and the applications and services that rely on it.
- Experience in threat modeling and understanding attacker techniques and exploits, as well as the experience to develop effective defenses against them.
