Your new companyThe role is based in Galway with some remote working options and some regular travel to the UK and ad-hoc to Europe.Our client is a market leading company in the field of Civil Engineering, Marine Construction, and Site Investigation throughout the UK and Ireland. They have recently received a significant investment that will allow the business to grow in the UK market and beyond. Their vision is to provide clients with comprehensive bespoke configurations and solutions where environments can be most challenging.Position SummaryReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Group Managing Director will be a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO in terms of overall corporate strategy.Leading a small team, the Group Managing Director will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the business are performing to an optimal level.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the company’s strategy to achieve both short- and long-term goals.Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson.Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans.Ensure that safety policies are up-to-date and implemented throughout all areas of the business.Plan cost-effective operations and market development activities.Establish company policies and legal guidelines.Build long-term relationships with shareholders, business partners and port authorities.Supervise both site and office-based staff, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.Ensure a positive work environment.Reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems.Execute public speaking and represent the company at certain events in a professional manner.Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure the company continues to be profitable.Further develop and enhance company culture.Experience & QualificationsPrevious working experience as Managing Director.Working knowledge of implementing Health & Safety management systems.Proven track record in developing strategic plans.Previous marine construction experience desirable but not essential.Willingness to grow a business in a new market.Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.Problem solver able to keep calm and efficient under pressure and in a crisis. #J-18808-Ljbffr
