You will lead a team to take concept designs for water and wastewater products bringing these through the design process, into manufacturing and testing.You will work in a one-team culture while actively contributing to your own skills and experience. In this role, you will provide leadership in the implementation and optimisation of manufacturing facilities within the group.Main Duties and Responsibilities:The Manufacturing Director will be required to implement and monitor the progress of the Glanua Manufacturing activities across its facilities.Lead by example on matters of Health, Safety, Quality, Environment & Wellbeing. Conduct senior leadership visits to sites and safety interventions.Adopt and promote the Groups Sustainability and Net Zero carbon targets and that of respective Clients.Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for business unit and report monthly on performance against budget/forecast.Take responsibility for design of manufactured goods through the facility.Ensure best practice Lean Manufacturing techniques are in place, ensure manufacturing facilities are fully optimised and provide both flow and logical movement of fabrications through the facilities.Implement accurate Manufacturing Schedules and continuously track and monitor progress.Lead People Management for Manufacturing function including resource levelling, recruitment, performance reviews, etc.Implement accurate digitalised cost tracking systems for all manufactured products including costs of labour, materials and consumables.Assist in the compilation of the annual budgets for manufacturing facilities.Resource the business unit adequately to deliver successfully for our customers (both internal and external).As a client focused business, ensuring regular liaison with our clients to ensure that their expectations are being met and exceeded.Make strategic decisions in accordance with Business Plan Objectives and provide the necessary leadership and direction for teams of managers to implement those decisions.Adopt and support the use of the Groups Digital Delivery tools, common data environment and applications and ensure these are used within each respective project. Provide feedback on areas for improvement.Continually review key performance indicators (KPI's) and benchmarks.Drive growth plans for Manufacturing within the Engineering and Technologies BU to maximise revenue opportunities and streams.Scaling up the production facilities and operations as future growth levels demand.Expand, develop and diversify manufacturing facility to ensure resilience and continuity of work.Anticipate risk and manage opportunities.Keep appraised of latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).Provide input to business functions and operations in shaping and implementing efficiencies and improvements.Other duties as required from time to time.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar role, ideally in the water and wastewater industry.Must have experience in leading a manufacturing function, lean manufacturing, production planning, resources planning, commercial reporting, business development, etc.Experienced in the management of a business unit P&L and monthly reporting of business unit performance.Ability to liaise directly with customers as Glanua representative on products, technology, innovations and bespoke engineered products.Minimum of a Level 8 Degree in a relevant Engineering Qualification.Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project.
