**Job Description:**
To assist the Operations department in improving the manufacturing of product and develop the most optimum molding process and tooling and automation solutions which meet or exceed customer requirements.

  • Provide technical resources to ensure current and future projects are run in accordance with customer specifications and in-house specifications and standards.
  • Introduce new products into the company and compile standard specifications for each process and monitor all existing production to standard specifications.
  • Execute projects relating to new products, the continuous improvement program, lean program & line extensions for existing customers & products.
  • Optimize existing processes using statistical techniques.
  • Work with the Production Group leaders (PGL's) in troubleshooting processing problems.
  • Establish relationships with customers and Equipment/ Raw Material suppliers in pursuit of continuous improvement and on-going business development.
  • Instruct others regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems introduced to the company.
  • Coordinate the development of documentation in the Production and Technical areas in line with ISO9001 and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Communicate with external suppliers of materials and equipment and provide regular feedback on any issues to the management team.
  • Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements training, and regulations.

**Requirements:**
National Diploma Level 7 or Level 8 in Plastics Engineering or a Degree in Plastics Engineering.
At least 5 years' experience in the injection molding industry.
Very good knowledge of injection mold tooling and design.
Very good knowledge of injection molding (standard process and Multi component), processing, ancillary equipment, Robots and automation systems.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
Experience in the medical, packaging or technological industries.
Dealt with Customers in a previous employment.
Knowledge of Real time monitoring systems.
In-depth knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of experiments (DOE).
Good data analysis capabilities & familiar with statistical software, (ideally Minitab).
Knowledge of the principles of WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen.
Knowledge in computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.

**Physical and Mental Requirements:**
Medium - exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to stand/walk for periods of up to 4 hours between rest periods.
Must be able to lift equipment and tools up to 25kg up to 10 times per day.
Must be able to climb up and down stepladders/stairs up to 10 times per day.

When absent from the site duties and responsibilities will be delegated to the following designates: Process Engineer Process Technician.
