Manufacturing Engineer

Galway-based company seeks experienced Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, design and implement equipment, and lead technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously drive improvements in process design, layout, and operational performance.
  • Specify, design, procure, install, commission, modify, and validate equipment.
  • Use established problem-solving techniques to address challenging problems in production.
  • Provide technical servicing and maintenance of manufacturing and personalizing equipment.
  • Support central IT in managing local IT network and interfaces.
  • Analyze process, product, material, or equipment specifications and performance.
  • Be responsible for calibration and preventative maintenance of production equipment.
  • Develop technical documentation such as standard operating procedures, safety programs, validation protocols, technical reports, engineering calculations, change controls, and other documentation as required.
  • Provide technical leadership to production technicians and lead technical projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact to eliminate or lessen such impacts.
  • Support the transfer of manufacturing processes from other HID sites to Galway.
  • Be flexible for international business travel as sometimes required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an automated production environment.
  • Strong experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, PC and PLC control, vision systems, etc.
  • Hands-on experience supporting machines in a production environment.
  • Previous experience in RFID card manufacturing or the secure printing industry is a distinct advantage.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, and international technical standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Native level fluency in English language; fluency in another language is desirable.
