Job DescriptionWe have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team based in Dublin 15 on our Evening Shift, Monday to Thursday 3.15pm to 11.15pm and Friday 2.15pm to 9.15pm. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician performs preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of manufacturing equipment and other specialty support equipment used in the manufacturing process. This is a crucial role in ensuring optimum line efficiency and product quality. The successful candidate will operate with a high level of efficiency, integrity, and enthusiasm, ensuring to focus on continuous improvement.Key responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of manufacturing equipment and other specialty support equipment used in the manufacturing process.Provide equipment and process support (including machine maintenance) to printed circuit assembly lines.Direct Manufacturing Engineering Technicians on their assigned lines in the observation of machine and line performance and provide guidance in the determination of the necessary steps to achieve optimum machine and process efficiency.Analyse, Manage and perform the Preventative maintenance on key equipment in the manufacturing process and maintain the critical spare part list for all core equipment items and upcoming PM's.Provide training to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians in subjects such as equipment maintenance and repair; machine programming and optimization; and part-data (PD) file creation.Interfaces with Line Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers to determine corrective actions needed to optimize machine efficiency and effectiveness (yields).Creates, documents, and implements procedures that ensure continued operational excellence throughout the plant(s).As required, provide expertise and direction to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and Machine Support Technicians on machine adjustments, repairs, or other demand-maintenance activities.Manage the coverage of Manufacturing Engineering Technician III duties in assigned plant(s) if an MET is absent due to vacation, illness, training, or some other reason.On certain occasions, perform those duties if and when a critical need arises.Assist Manufacturing Engineers in determining optimum process performance by assisting with AOI, Smart tooling, Production Management System, designing and manufacturing of necessary tooling, and suggestions for design for manufacturing (DFM).Ensure that data integrity functions such as program and PD back-ups are completed regularly on all lines in assigned plant(s).Document key MET process and provide guidance, assistance and / or training to the Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.Assist Project Engineer(s) with identifying individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.Encourage open communication and exchange of information within the M.E. department and between the various support groups.Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by management.Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.Ad hoc duties as requested.Job Qualifications:Essential criteria:Minimum NFQ Level 6 required or equivalent. May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements. Ideally 5 years’ experience working as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician or a similar role is required. Computer literate with intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills. Engineering degree preferably with a minimum 5+ years of experience ideally in the electronic manufacturing industry but related industries will be considered; May substitute relevant experience in lieu of educational requirement. Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Strong planning & organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland. Proven ability to meet deadlines. A "can do" work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.Desired criteria:BS/BA (Hons) degree in Manufacturing Technology/Mechanical Engineering/Electronical/Electronics/Mechatronics. Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable. Experience in leading process improvements/lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
