Purpose of the Job

  • Perform day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and plant equipment.
  • Maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures, to perform equipment validation and preventative/demand maintenance.
  • Liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment.
  • Coordinate and implement equipment projects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day demand and preventative maintenance and problem-solving of plant and manufacturing equipment to achieve product quality and production schedule goals.
  • Complete and record functional and safety checks on plant and manufacturing equipment and correct any deviations from specification.
  • Assist in installation and validation of new and upgraded processes.
  • Assist in implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with and assist contracted maintenance, such as service/commissioning engineers, factory inspectors, building contracts, site maintenance, etc.
  • Establish department goals with Area Team Leader/Manager.
  • Ensure Safety Standards are met and safe working practices are adhered to.
  • Foster and lead continuous improvement to the culture of safety.
  • Recommend/implement improvements to safety standards.
  • Liaise directly with other departments in accident/incident investigations and address any issues arising from these investigations.
  • Ensure Environmental procedures, such as recycling, waste minimization, are adhered to and improvements made where possible.
  • Assist in preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests for Plant and manufacturing equipment.
  • Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that facilities, utilities and equipment are maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.
  • Liaise with Division Engineering as required.
  • In conjunction with the Quality calibration coordinator, ensure compliance with calibration requirements for both Plant and Manufacturing.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the facility and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of utility services and manufacturing plant.
  • Ensure the maintenance of pest control, housekeeping and GMP.
  • Ensure PM system is implemented on facility and manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and implement CIPs.
  • Ensure External contractors are managed and supervised.
  • Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as requested by the Area Team Leader/Manager.

Education & Competencies

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of two years relevant experience in a hands-on engineering role.
  • Two years experience of the maintenance of utility and/or process equipment in the healthcare or food processing industry.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and work within a team.
