At Excel Recruitment we are recruiting a Market Operator on behalf of a Semi-State body located in Dublin South. In this role, you will maintain oversight of all market auction activities, working closely with key stakeholders to resolve operational issues within tight deadlines. These stakeholders include control centres, market operations management, internal IT teams, service providers, traders, and operators from the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities Perform daily system checks to ensure market processes run smoothly and address any issues within agreed parameters or escalate as needed. Use experience and knowledge to identify solutions when resolving operational issues and engage senior team members for support. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to address market operation queries. Monitor market activities, including auctions and report publications, to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Input and validate data in the market system to ensure accuracy and engage with customers when data is missing, providing workarounds for data submission. Raise incident tickets and coordinate with internal and external teams to resolve issues. Participate actively in daily incident meetings with European Market Operators, representing the company. Work closely with control centers to resolve real-time issues and escalate them to the Team Lead when necessary. Perform user acceptance testing for system releases (full training provided). Review and improve processes, procedures, and checklists to drive continuous improvement. Analyse market outcomes and produce reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements during market auction activities. Requirements 3 years of experience in a data and/or critical operational role. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Effective time management skills to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail. Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel. Experience using multiple systems simultaneously and the ability to quickly learn and operate different systems for process monitoring and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills and confidence working across functions in a business environment. Ability to work effectively in a team under time pressure with a flexible work approach. Proficiency in MS Office products and file management systems such as SharePoint.
