Marketing Assistant role available in Portlaoise town, supporting the development and execution of marketing strategies and activities for a leading Irish department store retailer.
Shaws Department Stores, a trusted and much-loved Irish family-owned business, is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join its Support Office team. With a rich heritage spanning 160 years, the company aims to provide quality products, unmatched service, and expert knowledge to customers nationwide.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing Manager to create and deliver content across key social media channels, ensuring brand standards are met. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing traditional and digital marketing strategies and activities
- Creating printed collateral for display in traditional media and stores
- Managing databases and ensuring GDPR compliance
- Executing email marketing campaigns
- Collaborating with third-party organisations to maximise marketing opportunities
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least one year's experience in a marketing role, preferably in the retail sector
- Experience working on social media platforms and maximising marketing opportunities
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive and motivated attitude
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

This is an office-based role, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to work hybrid after the probationary period.
