Job Description

Water Safety Ireland seeks a Marketing Assistant to support the development and delivery of education and lifesaving messages through various mediums.

This role is based in the Galway Office and requires a blended working structure, with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and delivery of marketing plans, business development plans, strategic plans, and related projects.
  • Develop water safety awareness campaigns that target those at risk of drowning.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager and other members of staff to develop and deliver campaigns, publications, and other resources.
  • Seek and deliver creative and effective ways of promoting water safety messages to the public.
  • Coordinate marketing communications across relevant media channels, including the design, copy, image, and content of advertisements, websites, and other promotional activities.
  • Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects.
  • Assist with the organisation of exhibitions, conferences, and seminars.
  • Prepare logistics for video/photography shoots as required.
  • Use relevant statistics to create appropriate content for various channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, and interviews with press journalists, podcasts, radio, and TV.
  • Keep up to date on the latest trends and developments in marketing communications and provide reports to colleagues.
  • Create press releases and news articles that bring water safety issues into the public domain and follow up with interviews.
  • Develop new and ongoing relationships with third parties within the public and private sector to create water safety marketing partnerships.
  • Assist with the planning, management, and delivery of a variety of marketing exhibitions and public events.
  • Create publications such as Annual Reports.
  • Provide input to the planning of the WSI Marketing budget.
  • Represent Water Safety Ireland at various events.
  • Administer Requests for Tender and draft relevant documents.

The successful candidate will be required to meet minimum required hours each week (currently 35) and accurately clock in and out for all attendance.
