Mechanical Design Engineer for Building Services needed to deliver high-quality designs within tight schedules and budgets, collaborating with internal and external teams to drive project success.
O'Connor Sutton Cronin is a leading design consultancy seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the building services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs that meet the needs of clients and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and specifying electrical engineering solutions to current regulations and design standards
- Working closely with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions
- Developing and agreeing design processes and design deliverables
- Leading pre-construction activities, including design development, construction details, services coordination, and technical submittals
- Providing technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams
- Supporting construction teams with off-site technical expertise
Requirements:
- Strong technical ability in all aspects of mechanical engineering services and design
- Third-level qualification in electrical or building services engineering
- Three years' relevant experience, preferably in a design consultancy environment
- Experience in taking an active role in project delivery from concept stage to completion
- Knowledge and experience of current design guides, building regulations, EN standards, and IEC standards
- Experience in using Dialux and Amtech
- Able to work well with others in a multifunctional project team
- Excellent attention to detail
