Job Description Summary: Mechanical Design Engineer required to develop innovative design solutions for automation projects using 3D CAD software, collaborating with a multi-discipline team.

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation Industry)

Location: Dublin

Salary: DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to produce innovative design solutions for a wide variety of industries.
  • Develop concept designs and evolve them into detailed designs using 3D CAD software.
  • Work with challenging mechanical requirements and apply technical knowledge to overcome them.
  • Produce detailed machine and factory layouts using 2D CAD software.
  • Create comprehensive bills of materials and parts lists for mechanical aspects of projects.
  • Engage in regular meetings with project teams, suppliers, and clients to understand and execute mechanical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company standards.
  • Support sales teams by preparing technical information for quotations, designing costings, and assisting in production costing.
  • Provide technical support during project build, testing, and commissioning.
  • Manage time to deliver designs in line with project timelines.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset in all aspects of work.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical design/engineering experience in the automation industry.
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • Highly proficient in 3D CAD software (ideally Solidworks) with experience designing for manufacturing.
  • Previous experience using Solidworks PDM or similar.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to balance priorities of multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Passion for engineering with drive to innovate and contribute to company success.
