Seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in automation industry to produce innovative design solutions for various industries.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for working with a multi-discipline team to develop and evolve design concepts into detailed designs using 3D CAD.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the team to produce innovative design solutions for various industries
- Developing and evolving design concepts into detailed designs using 3D CAD
- Applying technical knowledge to work with challenging mechanical problems
- Producing detailed machine and factory layouts using 2D CAD
- Creating comprehensive bill of materials and parts lists for mechanical aspects of a project
- Engaging with project teams, suppliers, and clients to understand and execute mechanical requirements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
- Providing technical support to sales team and assisting with design costings and production work
- Managing time to deliver designs in line with project schedule
- Applying continuous improvement mindset in all aspects of work
Requirements:
- Minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Highly proficient in 3D CAD (ideally Solidworks) with experience designing for automation
- Previous experience using Solidworks PDM or similar
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities of multiple projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
