Job Description Summary: Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to develop innovative mechanical design solutions for various industries, applying technical knowledge to challenging mechanical issues and managing project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to concept development and evolve designs into detailed 3D CAD models
- Apply technical expertise to address mechanical challenges
- Produce detailed machine and factory layouts using 2D CAD
- Generate comprehensive bills of materials and parts lists for mechanical aspects of projects
- Engage with project teams, suppliers, and clients to understand and execute mechanical requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
- Support sales teams with technical information, design costings, and production costing
- Provide technical support during build, testing, and commissioning of projects
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset
Requirements:
- Mechanical design/engineering experience in the automation industry
- Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Highly proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks) with experience designing for manufacturing
- Previous experience with Solidworks PDM or similar an advantage
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and accurate with excellent precision
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
