Job Description

STEM Recruitment Partners are working with a medical device company based in Dublin West, that is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D operations. 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. €55-65/hour DOE Reporting to the Director of Mechanical Systems, you will join a diverse and cross-functional team working on upgrading and developing their complex, software-controlled electromechanical medical device. Job Responsibilities Support development activities for both sustaining and new product initiatives. Lead engineering projects, managing and overseeing related tasks. Design and develop electro-mechanical components and assemblies, including plastic parts intended for single use. Create and lead the development of test plans and protocols to ensure product quality and compliance. Execute characterization tests, analyze the results, and draft comprehensive reports. Collaborate actively with a cross-functional development team, contributing your expertise to various aspects of the project. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve engineering issues. Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Construct and evaluate prototypes, documenting performance and identifying areas for improvement. Design and implement tests to verify that designs meet all required specifications. Lead and support technical reviews for both new product developments and sustaining product evaluations. Document and share technical knowledge with colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Ensure adherence to design control and risk management policies throughout the development process. Job Requirements 5+ years of experience, preferably in a regulated environment. Strong problem-solving skills. Experience in the full product development cycle, from concept to validation. Hands-on experience with mechanical prototyping using rapid-prototyping techniques. Proficiency in SolidWorks is required. Medical device experience is desirable, but not essential. FMEA experience is a plus. Outgoing personality with a strong desire to learn and grow. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet research. Skills: Mechanical Design SolidWorks medical device
