Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Monaghan, Ireland Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum (depending on skill set) Company Overview Syntech Recruitment is pleased to work with a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and manufacturing of special purpose waste management equipment. They provide innovative, high-quality machinery designed to optimise waste management processes for a diverse range of industries. Role Summary They are seeking a Qualified and Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of new products, improve existing designs, and collaborate closely with sales and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met and manufacturing processes are optimised. Key Responsibilities Develop new designs from initial concept through to implementation, while improving existing designs. Work with the sales team to visit customer sites and confirm equipment requirements. Implement and maintain Lean systems to streamline production processes. Collaborate with the production team during the manufacturing process. Create SOPs and production tutorials to ensure smooth operations. Document designs with solid part models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Verify designs using traditional analytical methods and dynamic/finite element analysis software. Assess and implement continuous improvement strategies for the production process. Create and maintain complete machine product structures, including bills of materials, models, options, and service parts information. Provide advice and after-sales service support to sales partners, including offering maintenance training. Ideal Candidate Will Possess 5+ years of experience in machine design or a related industry. Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in solid modelling (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and PC skills, including Excel and Word. Ability to manage complex design tasks following a sequenced workflow. Technical leadership skills, with experience in leading project teams and managing resources to achieve optimal results. Basic understanding across multiple areas of engineering, with advanced knowledge in Mechanical Design, Hydraulic Systems, or Electrical Systems. Proven ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problems independently. Demonstrated experience in leading projects, developing project schedules, and executing them to plan. Ability to prioritise, assign, and oversee delegated projects within an engineering team effectively.
