Job Description
**Job Summary:** Design and develop innovative solutions for Liebherr Container Cranes products, ensuring product designs and standards meet departmental requirements and schedules. Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd has been manufacturing cranes in Killarney since 1958. The company designs, manufactures, and installs a range of rail-mounted ship-to-shore cranes, container stacking cranes, rubber tyre gantry cranes, and straddle carriers. **Responsibilities:** * Establish and layout design solutions for Liebherr Container Cranes products and their components * Prepare detailed production drawings and associated material lists * Liaise with personnel within and outside the design department to ensure designs are current and meet standards * Collaborate with sub-suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure component fabrication and quality meet expectations * Visit sites to improve knowledge and understanding of Liebherr Container Crane products * Maintain the design database and ensure all design drawings and concepts are centrally stored * Prepare manuals for Liebherr Container Crane products * Train new and existing employees within the design department * Participate in handover to client and customer training **Qualifications and Experience:** * Qualified Engineer in a relevant discipline * Significant design experience * Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills * Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Excellent communication skills * Third-level qualification in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or equivalent * Minimum of 3 years' experience in Mechanical/Structural design of steel fabrication structures * High-level knowledge and experience in 3D design packages and related technologies * Strong evidence of delivering results in a fast-paced operational setting **Benefits:** * Competitive salary * Pension scheme * Training and development opportunities * Subsidised canteen * Retailer discounts * Travel opportunities * Sports and social club * Cycle to work scheme
