Title: Mechanical Engineer The Company: Our client has been in business for over 30 years and in that time has become a market leader in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilation systems. They manufacture a variety of systems from air handling units, rooftop ventilation, air-cooling, and close control systems to name just a few. They have a dynamic and an ever-expanding, ambitious workforce of over 150 and a turnover in the billions! As a result of their ongoing success, they seek to add a talented Mechanical Engineer to their team in Cork, offering a strong package, a secure work environment, and career development opportunities! The Role: The successful Mechanical Engineer will be site-based in Cork and will have the following duties, including but not limited to: Designing, developing, and testing new cooling solutions for data centres Preparing technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D Department Working closely with the R&D Lab Team to perform performance testing and validation on prototypes Assisting with prototype builds to better understand design and drive improvement The Person: We are looking to speak to candidates from the following backgrounds: Senior Mechanical Design or R&D or prior experience designing HVAC is a requirement Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics (piping, pressure), heat transfer, and pressure drop calculations is essential Ideally from a manufacturing background but a construction-oriented background will also be highly beneficial if there is enough understanding of vital elements Experience in designing processed piping in pharmaceuticals/data centres will also be considered The Package: Salary: €50,000 - €70,000 DOE/Background 25 Days holiday Pension plan Laptop Phone Location: Cork: Applications are encouraged from suitable candidates living in the Munster region and surrounding areas, including Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford.
